Draymond Green is making progress in his recovery from a back injury.

Green told reporters that he felt good. Getting my strength back. It was great to be practicing today. I feel great.

Green has not played more than seven seconds in a game since January 5. Steve Kerr told reporters that the three-time NBA champion looked great in his return to practice.

“A lot of drill work and it's great just to have his energy back in the gym. He looked great physically. He's excited to be back. So that's a very positive step for him, and we'll go from here.”

Green said in February that a procedure down the line is a possibility, even though doctors don't think he will need surgery.

He was in the midst of another productive season when he was injured, and he averaged 7.9 points, 7.6 rebound and 7.4 assists while shooting 53.7 percent from the floor in 34 games.

The Warriors have played well without Green. The Golden State Warriors are second in the Western Conference with a 43-17 record.

For the Warriors to have a chance at another NBA title, Green needs to return as soon as possible. Stephen Curry has stepped up in his absence, but the defense has still suffered.

Getting healthy is the biggest priority for the Warriors. In addition to Green's absence, James Wiseman is recovering from a torn meniscus and Andre Iguodala has a back injury.

Golden State can compete with teams such as the Suns for the NBA championship if it is fully healthy.
