This isn’t just limited to majority state-owned Aeroflot. It applies to all Russian airlines (even private ones, like oneworld member S7). Even Germany is now sending munitions to Ukraine. European airlines, including most recently Lufthansa, are suspending flights to Russia.

The chairman of Russia’s lower house of parliament had his plane turned back mid-flight by Sweden and then Finland, making him the first top Russian official to face Europe’s denial of airspace permissions in response to the invasion https://t.co/Kp215fH9pQ pic.twitter.com/ngpl3OC7IX

Russian banks will be kicked off of the international payment network. It could lead to a run on these banks because it makes it difficult to transact and liquidate assets.

US + EU commit to removing selected Russian banks from Swift

Will impose "restrictive measures that will prevent the Russian central bank from deploying its int'l reserves in ways that undermine the impact of our sanctions" pic.twitter.com/GcO2P9tZzM

Russians are no longer able to access Pornhub without using a PureVPN.

The sanction nobody is talking about. Russian users who attempted to visit pornhub were quite literally cockblocked by a message that told them that the content has been stopped along with a Ukranian flag and message of Ukranian support #Ukraine #UkraineRussia #UkraineInvasion pic.twitter.com/XdI75534JW

The costs to Russia are much higher than they expected. It's not clear what their end game looks like, so even the notion of prevailing is murky. Attacks are about to intensify in advance of a rumored NATO no fly zone over Kiev.

In 30-60 mins #Kyiv will be under attack never seen before.#Russia will hit us with all they have. Main Bessarabka market is a target. All parliamentary chats are exploding

Russians are fighting people who look like them. If Russians stop fighting there, Ukranians will stop fighting there.

The mood in Ukraine….Russia’s foreign minister Lavrov this week said negotiations can begin once Russia “restores democratic order” in Ukraine.

As Russian troops neared Kyiv, I asked MP @GoncharenkoUa to comment.

He had a pretty clear one word answer…

“F*** you, Lavrov”. pic.twitter.com/HngNZgDcko

The hearts and minds of the West are being won by Ukraine. That is not surprising. They are a democracy. They are being invaded. Their homes are being attacked.

What can you do? I don't know if the legitimacy of GoFundMe is for weaponry. Make sure hotel chains are loyal to know not to invest in Russia and encourage a halt to investment projects by the companies you frequent. More than 80 Western-managed hotels are expected to open in Russia this decade.

I am surprised the U.S. still allows flights by Aeroflot. I think sanctions are baked into Putin's actions and he is willing to endure them. That doesn't mean that they can't do them. Although openly shipping weapons should be doing that, maybe there will be no retaliation.

It looks like there is some hacking of Russia going on.

I would endorse this.

The U.S. government should:

1. Admit Ukraine to Visa Waiver Program,2. Grant all Ukrainians automatic ESTA so they can travel here,3. Grant asylum to all Ukrainians upon arrival,4. Sort out inadmissibles upon arrival, and

5. Reap the benefits while doing tremendous good.
