Death By Conspiracy? is a 10-part series of radio shows from the reporter Marianna Spring of the British Broadcasting Corporation.

Matthews died at home in Covid. All Covid deaths have been terrible. It seems like this one might have been avoided. Matthews, who was close to his family and had many good friends, was drawn into an anti-establishment community that didn't believe in Covid. He didn't wear a mask because of this, and joined several crowded protests against vaccine passports. He didn't seek medical help when he got Covid.

It's tempting to create a conclusive equation when you hear about Matthews' death. You know: a lonely man plus friendly conspiracy theorists equals death. Spring does not do that. Instead, she talks to his family and friends. One person in particular, who was friendly with Matthews and still believes that Covid isn't real, is Charlie Parker. They are whoever.

Spring talks toParker on a number of occasions over the course of the series, but he won't shift. Some people will never change their minds. Several people who won't get the vaccine are suspicious of mask mandates and believe that powerful people are manipulating us all for their own dark ends. I have argued with some but not all. We all have a say in how we live. Spring created an interesting series and has more power for her reporting.

There is more dismantling of misinformation on the Science vs. The most recent episode was devoted to challenging the points made by Dr Robert Malone about Covid and vaccines on The Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan and his bro-interviewees have been offensive about women and non-white people. Neil Young, India Arie, and others have pulled their music from the service because of the episode of Rogan.

Science Vs also has an exclusive deal with the streaming service. The show has skin in the game and making this episode is a brave move. Wendy and Rose Rimler know their science, as does the co-host. They work their way through the Rogan episode, calling out the methods of the man.

He cherrypicks data and tells anecdotes that don't show a larger point. He deliberately doesn't include the benefits of the vaccine.

Rimler and Zukerman are very careful about the science. The vaccine can affect menstrual cycles, but only for a day or two, and then everything will return to normal after a couple of months. They don't cherrypick. They have decided not to make any more episodes of Science Vs until they get better policies from Spotify. More power to them.

FunKids has a project to broadcast a radio show into space. A half-hour programme was made from the contributions of the station's listening audience and beamed out from the Royal Observatory in Greenwich last Monday at 7pm.

The first ever radio show to go into deep space set a new world record. It might not change your life, but the contributions are optimistic. Everyone on the show has a real respect for proved facts, and there was a whole afternoon chatting space. It was a tonic last week.
