A majority of Americans think that Vladimir Putin would not have ordered the invasion of Ukraine if Donald Trump was still in the White House, according to a new poll.

Tucker Carlson leads the charge to blame everyone but Putin.

According to a poll by the Harvard Center for American Political Studies (Caps)-Harris, Putin would not have sent troops into Ukraine with Trump in the White House.

The survey found that 85% of Republicans and 38% of Democrats held the view.

According to the poll, conducted on Wednesday and Thursday this week among 2,026 registered voters, Putin only ordered the invasion because he saw weakness in Joe Biden. The US president was not a factor in Putin's decision.

Biden has been attacked by Republicans for his weakness in the face of autocratic leaders. Party figures have been less interested in discussing Trump's admiration for Putin.

More Republicans had a negative view of Biden than of Putin, and more Democrats had a negative view of Trump, according to the Harvard study.

The study said that 98% of Republicans had a negative view of Biden. Democrats had a negative view of Trump and a negative view of Putin.

A third poll, released by NPR/PBS/Marist College, will add concern for a Biden administration that is battling low approval ratings due to public discontent with fronts such as the Afghanistan withdrawal, a stalled legislative agenda and inflation.

The NPR-Marist poll found that a majority of Americans think Biden failed in his first year in office. 39% of people called it a success.

Biden's first year was a failure according to two-thirds of independents. 80% of Democrats thought Biden's first year was a success, but 15% thought it was a failure.
