ABC7 Bay Area was the first to report that a black woman had accused Delta Airlines of putting her in the back of the plane to make room for two white passengers.
The incident reportedly took place when Henderson was flying to San Francisco from Atlanta, Georgia.
She was told to move to row 34 about an hour into the flight after sitting in a window seat.
Henderson said she was told to move after two women complained about their seating. The middle and aisle seats of the row Henderson was sitting in were in 15B and 15C.
The women claimed they had first-class seats, but they didn't have tickets to prove it. A recording reviewed by the media outlet shows that Delta staff told them they couldn't seat them in first class if they didn't have tickets.
Henderson told The Daily Beast that a flight attendant woke her up and asked if she was traveling alone.
Henderson claims that the flight attendant told her that moving would give the two women more room.
As a black woman, I was forced to make two white women comfortable. That doesn't make sense to me.
She said she agreed to change seats so as not to make a scene, even though she paid for a seat.
She told the media outlet that she doesn't drink alcohol.
Henderson wants Delta Airlines to acknowledge the situation.
Delta Airlines did not reply immediately.
