Tucker Carlson claimed on Friday night that the nomination of Jackson was an attempt to defile the supreme court and degrade the US.

Who is Biden's supreme court choice?

Jackson will be the first Black woman on the court if she is confirmed.

Carlson said that Jackson was nominated because of how she looks. Do you want to live in that country? Most people don't wear all colors at the same time. They think you should be elevated in America based on what you do, not on how you were born.

One columnist said his comments were the perfect example of white supremacy.

Biden promised to put a woman on the court. Jackson was introduced on Friday.

Biden called her a proven consensus builder with a pragmatic understanding that the law must work for the American people.

The former public defender will be the new public defender. Conservatives will win the balance of the court.

At the White House, Jackson paid tribute to the first Black woman to be a federal judge.

Jackson's appointment showed that Biden was against equality.

Maybe she's great, but that's not the point, he said. The point is that she was picked because of how she looks, but what about Joe Biden?

He is happy to destroy the best system in the history of the world because it was built by other people over hundreds of years. Doesn't care at all.

Carlson claimed Jackson was a political activist and not just ignorant of the law.

Carlson said that most Americans think you should be elevated based on what you do, not on how you were born.

The Washington Post columnist called Carlson's comments the perfect example of white supremacy.

Justices have been nominated because of who they are. Ronald Reagan promised to install a woman. Donald Trump installed Amy ConeyBarrett, a hardline Catholic conservative, after promising to pick a woman to replace Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Jackson was confirmed to the US court of appeals for the DC circuit with three Republican votes. Steve Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas, pointed out on Friday that she has almost nine years of trial court experience, more than four current justices, including the chief.

The current justices have trial court experience, and so I think diversity along so many axes, and from a nominee, is what we're really talking about.

It was difficult to figure out what the line of attack would be against someone with Jackson's credentials.

Republicans are happy to give previews.

Ted Cruz of Texas has complained about how Democrats treated the second pick of Trump, who denied accusations of sexual assault, and how Biden promised to pick a black woman. Lindsey Graham said that the radical left was behind the Jackson pick.

Democrats won't need Republican votes, even those who voted to confirm Jackson last year. Democrats only need 50 senators and the casting vote of the vice-president.

Carlson pressed on.

He said that you really didn't care about the country you lead. What would you do?

You could take the most important position in the government and announce in public that you are filling it on the basis of appearance. Not on the basis of skill or wisdom or fealty to the founding documents of the United States, but on the way the person looks.

It would send a very clear message that you don't care about the institutions of the country you run.

The supreme court was founded by white men. Two of the 115 justices have been black.
