The International Space Station will be the site of a six-month mission where astronauts will live and work. The view from the International Space Station is beautiful, but jumping off would be difficult. It would be a dangerous journey filled with hypersonic speeds and intense heat if an astronauts tried to reach Earth's surface by jumping.

The chief of Russia's space agency claims that the future of the International Space Station could be in danger because of new US sanctions.

The director general warned that the sanctions could destroy cooperation on the International Space Station.

President Joe Biden recently announced a set of US-imposed penalties on Russia. Russia's economy, military, financial system, and technological imports are targets of the sanctions.

On Thursday, Biden said he was authorizing additional strong sanctions against Russia and new limitations on what could be exported to the country.

Biden said that the sanctions were designed to maximize the long-term impact on Russia and minimize the impact on the United States and our allies.

According to CNN, Biden stated that the sanctions will degrade Russia's space program.

If you block cooperation with us, who will save the International Space Station from an uncontrollable deorbit and fall into the United States or Europe?

He said that there is the option of dropping a 500-ton structure to India and China. Do you want to hurt them? The risks are yours because the ISS does not fly over Russia. Are you prepared for them?

The location and trajectory of the International Space Station are controlled by Russian cargo ships.

NASA did not respond immediately to Insider's request for comment outside of normal working hours.

NASA said in a statement to Euronews that it continues to work with other international partners to maintain safe and continuous operations at the International Space Station.

The new export control measures will allow US-Russia civil space cooperation.

Four NASA astronauts, two Russian cosmonauts, and one European Astronaut are on the International Space Station.
