Liquor stores in the U.S. and Canada have stopped selling Russian alcohol in protest of the invasion of Ukraine.

According to the Canadian Press, the provincial Liquor Control Board was directed by the Finance Minister to remove alcoholic products from stores.

Ontario supports the federal government's efforts to sanction the Russian government for its actions against the Ukrainian people.

There are nearly 700 stores in the province.

In the US, the Jacob Liquor Exchange in Kansas decided to remove all of its Russian vodka from the shelves and put it on the ground.

In Oregon, the owner of a bar filmed himself pouring out all of his alcohol.

The owner of a bar said that Russia was acting like it was 1939 and that they had a full force in the Ukraine.

He stood to lose a few hundred dollars over the spilled vodka, but he said the protest was worth it.

Bob Quay, owner of Bob's Bar in Grand Rapids, Michigan, told MLive.com that he pulled several bottles off his shelf as a protest against aggression.

He told MLive.com that he made the decision on the spot.
