Many top hosts for Fox News and other conservative media voices are blaming the White House for supposedly enabling Russia's attack on Ukraine, even some of the same people who ridiculed President Joe Biden's warnings that an invasion was imminent.

Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo told viewers that it was "extraordinary" what the president had allowed the Russians to do. She argued that Biden has not been tough enough on Russia and that anything the administration has said has been weak.

The Washington Post has a newsletter for important and interesting stories.

Bartiromo had sounded confident that the Biden administration was inflating the threat of Russian aggression to distract from bad political news at home, and that a motion filed by special counsel John Durham that was described by many Fox News hosts as a massive scandal.

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said late last week that there is something going on that feels very manufactured.

On Thursday, after the U.S. warnings about Russia's military designs proved correct, Charles Hurt argued that it was still unclear why Americans should care. He said that the president was to blame. The president is out of bluffs and Biden has failed to make the case that this is a vital U.S. interest, he said.

Pete Hegseth said that he had not made a case for the national security implications.

There is a reason that this did not happen under a Trump administration, according to Hurt.

Laura Ingraham interviewed the former president on her show on Wednesday on the verge of Russian strikes. She told Trump that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky put on a pathetic display when he pleaded with Putin not to invade his country.

How would you have avoided this conflict? The 45th president talked about his close relationship with Putin and criticized the Biden administration.

The crisis in Europe gave the right-wing media an opportunity to compare leaders and sometimes conclude that Putin is more impressive.

Giuliani said on Newsmax that they have a president and we don't. Our incompetent president is not prepared for it.

Kyle Smith argued in a column published by the New York Post that the U.S. looks weaker to Putin because of the Biden presidency.

Clay said on Thursday that America has spent decades fetishizing soft, cuddly, emotional power which Putin doesn't respect.

Ben Shapiro, a conservative pundit, said that we should be rooting for Ukraine. Putin is a thug dictator who wants to rebuild an empire on the back of pure aggression while simultaneously allying with China and Iran.

Readers of the influential online news website, the Daily Wire, got a different take on the call by a former White House physician for Biden to take a cognitive exam during the invasion.

This whole thing is a scam. The Russian strikes are a total and complete scam, according to former Trump White House adviser Stephen K. Bannon.

The crisis was ignored or played down by other conservative outlets. The Conservative Political Action Conference was the focus of most of the coverage by One America News.

The news division of Fox took a more conventional approach. The severity of Russia's incursion has largely been acknowledged by the network's reporters and news anchors.

Some of Fox's biggest personalities have not yet had a chance to speak on their evening shows because of Russia's aggression toward Ukraine.

Tucker Carlson, the network's most-watched host, has used his prime time show in recent days to suggest that Putin is being unfairly victimized and has argued from the beginning of the conflict that Americans shouldn't worry about what's happening in Ukraine.

It was Sean Hannity who broke the news of Russia's planned military assault on Fox News' audience on Wednesday night.

Ari Fleischer, a Fox News contributor and former White House press secretary, blamed Russia. The first person Americans need to blame is Putin, despite Joe Biden's weakness and the mistakes he made that encouraged him.

I think, obviously, it does have to go with him, that's what he said.
