Delta Stops Codesharing With Russian Government-Owned Aeroflot, What Took So Long?

Delta Air Lines suspended codeshare with Aeroflot, which is owned by the Russian government. I was surprised it took so long. There appears to be little sympathy for the invasion of Ukraine by Putin.

The game theory said that even if the military had started as a bluff, the Russian attack would be inevitable. Putin couldn't back down without major concessions. At 70 years old, this was likely his last chance to expand the Russian frontier and population.

The Russian military has performed below expectations. This may reduce their leverage over other neighbors rather than growing it, and may even drive additional nations closer to NATO membership rather than scaring them off of it.

Where does this end? I'm not an expert on Putin or the region. Putin's appetites have been shown to be more than people thought. Should more be done? Russia has nuclear weapons, but they also have cyber warfare capabilities. There could be an asymmetric response to the U.S. and European moves against Russian. The US markets were up yesterday and again today, perhaps because the policy response has been somewhat subdued, and perhaps because global events could prevent interest rate hikes.
