According to a statement translated from Russian to English, Russia's media regulator said Friday it would move to partial access on Facebook after it said the platform had limited official accounts of four Russian media outlets.

Four Russian media outlets that are state-owned or state-affiliated had their official accounts restricted by Facebook.

Meta ignored a request from the agency to remove the restrictions, according to the agency.

The agency has recorded 23 cases of Russian media and internet resources beingcensored by Facebook since October 2020.

The Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed to recognize the social network Facebook as involved in the violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens.

It wasn't clear what the restrictions would be. The Russian embassy in Washington, D.C. did not respond to a request for more information.

A Facebook spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
