Game developers from the country and other nations have begun supporting the country, even though they can't. While some are simply donating money to humanitarian organizations, others are calling for players and other members of the game industry to donate to the armed forces of Ukraine.

CD Projekt Red is the most notable company to support the country outside of Ukraine. The studio's parent company, CD Projekt Group, which also owns the PC games platform GOG, has pledged to send the equivalent of about $243,000 to a Polish humanitarian organization that is currently working in Ukraine.

11 Bit Studios will donate all profits from the sale of This War of Mine to the Ukrainian Red Cross for the next week.

The calls for support inside the country have been fervent. The developer of the Metro franchise relocated to Sliema, Malta, in the wake of Russia's annexation of the peninsula. The company has a studio in Kyiv. 4A Games called for followers to donate money to the country's armed forces bank account, after praising the armed forces of Ukraine.

The move by 4A Games is similar to the call from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Our country woke up with the sounds of explosions and weapons fire, but is ready to defend its freedom and independence, for it remains strong and ready for anything.
