The security situation in Europe has deteriorated so much that the executive committee held an extraordinary meeting today.

The final of the men's European Championship will be held in Saint-Denis, France, instead of Saint Petersburg. The game will be played on May 28th.

The Union of European Football Associations wishes to express its thanks and appreciation to the President of the French Republic for his personal support and commitment to have the European club football's most prestigious game moved to France at a time of unparalleled crisis.

Together with the French government, we will support multi-stakeholder efforts to ensure the provision of rescue for football players and their families in Ukraine who face dire human suffering, destruction and displacement.

The 2021/22 UEFA Men’s Champions League final will move from Saint Petersburg to Stade de France in Saint-Denis. The game will be played as initially scheduled on Saturday 28 May at 21:00 CET.

Russian and Ukrainian clubs and national teams will have to play their home matches at neutral venues until further notice because of the executive committee's decision.

Spartak Moscow and Russia and Ukraine will be affected by this in the 2022-23 Nations League, which is due to start in June.

There is no decision on what to do about the World Cup play-off matches.

The winner of the Sweden vs Czech Republic semi-final will face the winner of the Russia vs Poland play-off in Russia for a place in the World Cup.

The federations of Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic issued a statement on Thursday saying that matches should not be played on Russian territory.

Infantino said on Thursday that he hoped the situation would be resolved by next month.

The Ukrainian league was suspended after the invasion and the play-off semi-final between Scotland and Ukraine is in doubt.
