Large explosions heard in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine

In the early hours of Friday morning local time, there were explosions in the capital of Ukraine.

The adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ukraine told CNN that strikes on Kyiv with cruise or ballistic missiles continued.

There were two blasts in Kyiv and an explosion in the distance.

The sky was lit up with projectiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that he was the number one target, but he stayed in the capital.

Zelensky said that they want to destroy the Head of State in order to destroy the country politically. I am asking Kyivites to be careful and follow the curfew.

Some Ukrainians went to the subways to be safe from attacks.
