Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, banned all flights by Aeroflot from flying in the country's airspace.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement on Thursday that it had restricted flights from Aeroflot because of its foreign carrier permit being suspended.
Aeroflot will not be allowed to operate flights to or from the United Kingdom until further notice.
Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport of the UK, announced on his social media that further restrictions have been put in place to target all scheduled Russian airlines.

Aeroflot is Russia's national airline. There is a large domestic and international network at Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport.
Delta Air Lines is part of the SkyTeam Alliance and flies to over 150 destinations, including London. The airline flew between Moscow and England before the ban.
In his televised address, President Joe Biden did not announce plans to ban Aeroflot from operating in the US. New York City, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Miami are some of the destinations the Russian carrier serves.
The English soccer team, Manchester United, is cutting ties with Aeroflot. The team has sponsored the flag carrier for the last four years.
Richard Arnold, the team's CEO, said he wants to distance the organization from Russia and has no plans to continue the partnership with Aeroflot.
The team was supposed to fly on Aeroflot but instead flew on a different carrier, according to the media company.
The largest-ever package of sanctions against Russia was part of the move to ban Aeroflot. The country's use of the Swift international payment systems, as well as the freezing of Russian bank assets, are included in the report.
