The players of Barcelona and Napoli held up a "Stop War" banner ahead of their game on Thursday.

The players and coaching staff from both teams posed in front of the slogan after a day of protests around the world.

The Spanish side have not been involved in the last 16 of the Europa League since 2004. The first leg ended in a tie.

Ruslan Malinovskyi, a Ukranian international, wore a "No war in Ukraine" T-shirt after scoring for Atalanta against Olympiakos as the Italians advanced to the next round.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed martial law across the country earlier in the day after Russia launched land, sea and air attacks on the country.
