A federal judge denied Musk's request to force the SEC into court to address his allegations.

US District Judge Alison Nathan said in a recent court filing that it was unclear what Musk was requesting. The SEC has been accused of ignoring its commitment to distribute $40 million in fine money to shareholders by Musk and his company. The SEC is still working on a plan to allocate the funds.

If Musk wants to impose a deadline on the distribution of funds, he needs to file a motion to request one, according to Nathan.

She doesn't agree with Musk's efforts to hold the SEC accountable for leaking information. Nathan notes that Musk's team failed to provide any specific facts or legal authority to justify the request.

The judge's filing comes on the heels of news that Musk and his brother are under investigation by the SEC. The SEC launched an investigation after Musk sent a message about taking the company private, concluding that he misled investors.
