The security team at Facebook is taking new steps to protect the accounts of users in Ukranian. The company is building a Special Operations Center to keep a close watch on what is happening.

Nathaniel Gleicher said that the lock profile tool is meant to give users access to additional privacy and security features.

This isn't the first time that Facebook has encouraged users to lock their profiles. The lock profile tool for people in Afghanistan was enabled by Facebook over the summer. It can be helpful for journalists, activists and others who may be at a higher risk of being targeted.
