The separation between Zion and the New Orleans Pelicans has been going on for a while.

Christian Clark of NOLA.com reported that this began with his issues with Williams.

Sources inside and outside of the organization have said that the lack of trust is the reason for the detachment shown by Williamson.

The vice president of basketball operations is seen as the driving force in this divide.

Clark said that Williamson and his camp didn't trust Griffin to be honest.

Fractures between the two sides began during the first year of his career as he recovered from a knee injury. He only appeared in 24 games his first season after being out for three months, and averaged 27.8 minutes per game.

Three head coaches in three seasons have not been helped by the constant personnel changes within the organization. The team is likely to have its fourth straight losing season with a 23-36 record.

Redick said he was lied to when he was traded.

The apparent feud has been played into by Williamson.

Clark says that the forward has shown up to camp overweight in the past. A foot injury has kept him out of the game for the next two seasons.

The 21-year-old didn't reach out to him immediately after the trade, but the two have since spoken.

It's enough to make significant question marks about the All-Star despite his on-court production.
