According to the BBC, OnlyFans is facing a pair of lawsuits over claims that it placed adult entertainer accounts on a terrorism database in order to have them disabled on Facebook. A class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of adult entertainers on the platform that was launched earlier this week. Both Facebook and OnlyFans were named as defendants.

Performers placed their content on the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism website despite not being terrorist in nature, according to a class action suit. The websites that compete with OnlyFans had a decline in traffic. Similar claims were made in the lawsuit. Both say that the problem is happening on the photo sharing platform.

The legal claim has no merit and we will address them in the context of the litigation.

OnlyFans is best known for hosting pornography, but it was in the news last summer after saying it would ban sexually explicit conduct.

Sex workers and other creators of OnlyFans were worried about a potential ban since a key source of their income was at stake. Some may have decided to move to a rival site, only to be hit with a shadow-ban on social media.
