The Green Bay Packers are looking at free-agent receiver Davante Adams.

The team could allow Adams to walk in free agency if the two sides can't come to an agreement, according to Brian Gutekunst.

Gutekunst said that there was a lot of things to be determined there.

The franchise tag is a possibility, though the team would prefer to agree on a long-term extension.

Gutekunst said that they would use it if needed.

In the last two years, Adams has earned first-team All-Pro honors, and he's one of the top receivers in the league. He finished last year with 123 catches for 1,553 receiving yards and was selected to his fifth straight Pro Bowl.

The 29-year-old is a challenge for the Packers.

Green Bay is over the salary cap. The franchise tag on the wide receiver would cost $19.1 million.

Gutekunst said the team would be able to keep Adams and others.

He said that he was very confident about that.

The Packers have until March 8 to place the franchise tag on Adams.
