The director of the Department of Athletic Regulation said that Adam Piccolotti had been medically suspended for six months for posting a video of himself vomiting during his weight cut.
Piccolotti wrote on social media that he had thrown up more than 20 times during the weight cut for the event.
The three cornermen were suspended by the tribe for their roles in the situation. The video showed two of Piccolotti's trainers helping him up off the floor so he could go into a portable sauna. Piccolotti deleted the video.
The Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports will honor the suspension by the Mohegan Tribe.
Piccolotti will need a new EKG and physical examination if he wants to compete again, according to the ABC president. He was fined $2,500.
I am concerned about his kidneys, and something has to be done about it.
Piccolotti defeated Karakhanyan via unanimous decision in a lightweight bout. Four of the past six fights have been won by the California resident.
