In an interview Tuesday, Trump called Putin a "genius" for ordering Russian troops to be in eastern Ukraine.

Trump released a statement bashing Biden's response without suggesting what he thinks the penalties should be for Russia.

Owens said Americans should read a transcript of Putin's address to the UN Security Council to know what's happening.

Tucker Carlson, host of Fox News, urged Americans to ask why they hate Putin and if they would beloyal to Russia if war broke out.

On Sean Hannity's Fox News show on Monday, the Democratic presidential candidate said that Putin's reaction is a natural response to a potential NATO threat along Russia's borders.

In a letter sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken earlier this month, Sen. Josh Hawley criticized the U.S. support for granting Ukraine NATO membership.

Trump questioned how smart Putin was when he ordered Russian troops across the border.

Surprising Fact

The Secretary of State said he had "enormous respect" for Putin, but acknowledged that he was the "aggressor."

Russian troops are believed to be along the borders of Ukraine, with US officials calling it the beginning of an invasion. The Ukrainian government on Wednesday declared a nationwide state of emergency as it dealt with a new wave of cyberattacks that the US has warned could lead to a full ground invasion. The European Union and the United States imposed sanctions on Putin after he moved troops into the region. Biden announced the first part of the sanctions on Tuesday, which largely serve to block Russian access to Western financial institutions and include penalties against Russian elites. Biden signed an executive order prohibiting new U.S. investment in the two Ukrainian regions that Russia has recognized as independent.

Tangent

The congressman said that his office was flooded with calls from Tucker Carlson viewers who were upset that the US was not siding with Russia in the conflict.

This is genius, Trump praises Putin, and Biden blasts him.
