The car shopping site Cars.com named the Model Y the top EV.

The SUV was named the best electric vehicle. The best of winners will be rolling out this week for five other categories.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E was the only EV to make the Consumer Reports top auto picks. The electric mustang was listed by Cars.com as a runner up to the Model Y.

The U.S. government avoids mentioning the electric vehicle industry when talking about it.

The Model Y was praised for its drivability despite being big enough to fit a family, easy charging at home or on the public charging networks, and for its 326-mile range. The Model Y can travel at a speed of up to 60 mph.

Cars.com highlighted a feature not unique to the Model Y: over-the-air updates fromTesla that make the car more valuable after purchase, and can even upgrade the EV's acceleration and infotainment system without a visit to a dealer or shop.

The overall Best of the Year will be announced later this year, according to Cars.com. The hybrid Ford Maverick pickup truck and the all-electric Volkswagen ID.4 are the only two vehicles that are up for the top title.
