When it comes to Jordan, the Golden State Warriors may be proactive.

The Western Conference team will attempt to sign the guard to a multiyear extension after the current season and before he hits restricted free agency in 2023, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The contract could be for four years and $80 million according to Spotrac.

The Warriors will be less concerned after the 2022-23 campaign when Andrew Wiggins will be an unrestricted free agent.

While Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins are generating a lot of the headlines for the Warriors, Poole has been a critical part of their rotation this season.

He is shooting 48.6 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from the deep to average 16.4 points, 3.5 assists, 3.1 rebound and 0.8 steals per game. If the Michigan product maintains his career-high numbers, the scoring, rebound, assist and steal numbers would all be career-high marks.

If the team is fully healthy, it isn't hard to imagine him being the second unit's anchor in the playoffs.

It would be possible for him to provide an immediate scoring spark against more favorable opponents if he were put in such a role.

It is no surprise that the Warriors want to make sure he stays with them. He is just 22 years old and has proved he can thrive alongside Curry or as a primary playmaker with the second unit.

The Warriors are in second place in the Western Conference with a record of 42% on the season, but have lost their last five games.

After the All-Star break, they play the Portland Trail Blazers.
