In Ohio, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, and other states that have recently dropped local mask mandates, Apple will no longer require customers to wear masks. Employees at Apple stores will still be required to wear masks.
Apple is also resuming in-store classes
Apple's website has been updated to show which stores require masks. The site will tell you if masks are required or optional when you use the retail store locator. In states with more rigid guidelines, masks are still required. New York and Connecticut only allow face masks for fully-vaccinated customers.
In addition to lifting mask requirements, Apple is also restarting its in-store classes called Today at Apple. There are courses on making music with Garageband, editing and shooting photos on an iPhone, and making videos with iMovie available at select locations. Some classes will resume this week, while others will start again in March.
Apple has changed its mask policy in line with local guidance since the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic. In November, Apple began to phase out mask requirements at retail locations and then again in December, as COVID-19 cases began to rise.
