The man who fell to earth is a continuation of the film that starred David Bowie. Chiwetel Ejiofor is going to complete a mission from the same home world as ThomasJeromeNewton did decades before. Bill Nighy takes over the role of Thomas, the alien who failed in his mission to send water back to his planet in order to save it.
The new trailer for the sci-fi drama gives a grounded look at the series which unfolds over a desert landscape with a glimpse of alien life at stake, warning that Earth is in line to follow suit. It also shows Ejiofor's alien, Faraday, on his true mission, to find the man who arrived on the planet decades before, and what happens when Farady finds himself making contact with both humans and a member of his own kind.
Lazarus was a musical stage adaptation of The Man Who fell to Earth, starring Michael C. Hall, Cristin Milioti, and Sophia Anne Caruso. It was one of the legendary artist's final works which incorporated his music into the fabric of Walter Tevis' original story, something that wasn't able to be secured for the film. The show's opening was the last public appearance of the artist before he died.
Naomie Harris and Jimmi Simpson are both in the ensemble along with Ejiofor and Nighy.
The man who fell to earth is going to begin on the show on April 24.
