After the statement, the company and the six-time major winner mutually agreed to end their sponsorship.

Forbes had a request for comment from Mickelson, but he did not respond immediately.

The Super Golf League gives players leverage over the dominant PGA, according to an excerpt from the book. The league, founded by former golfer Greg Norman and LIV Investments with ties to Saudi backers, has been trying to lure the top players away from the PGA. The rest of the top eight players on the PGA Tour are all members of the association.
