During the initial PS5 showcase, The Future of Gaming, one of the most beautiful games wasHorizon Forbidden West. The Decima engine and the newfound power of the PS5 were used to create this sequel.

One of the highlights of the world of Horizon Forbidden West is the different machines that are used in different ways. As Aloy travels into the Western U.S., she will discover a lot of machines. The complete list of machines is here.

There are machines that are not revealed before the game's launch that are included in this list, as well as machines that are tied to some story reveals.

The machines were divided into four classes in the original game. The players couldn't see what classes they were in. We assumed that things have not changed, and the classes that exist are the same ones in the movie. They are as follows.

  • Acquisition Class: This describes machines designed to harvest resources. They're shaped like herbivores in the original game and have blaze canisters.
  • Recon Class: Recon or Reconnaissance machines are the ones that act as sentinels and look out for threats. For example, Watchers from the first game.
  • Combat Class: These machines are specifically designed to attack threats and typically have the form of predatory animals. Think Sawtooths or Stalkers from the original game.
  • Transport Class: Machines designed to carry cargo or canisters around the world. For example, Shell-Walkers from the original game.

We have details on variations of machines, strengths and weaknesses, as well as details on the machine classes for the new and returning machines, so you can plan your fight better. You will come to dominate one of the best PS5 games if you take your time.

The debut of the variant machines is also marked by the fact that it is not a class. There are variations of machines that have less weaknesses and black armor that are more resistant to damage. They are more dangerous and should be approached with care.

Our tips and tricks guide can help you prepare for fights.
