Rodgers: Instagram post was out of 'gratitude,' nothing cryptic (1:31)

Rodgers says there is nothing strange about his post, it is just him thanking others that have helped him. (1:31)

On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers quarterback said that he did not have any news to report or a decision to make about his future.

Rodgers tried to explain that his post came at the end of a 12-day cleanse called Panchakarma, during which he spent time in a reflective state.

You have to turn everything else off so you don't work out. It is a re-centering. It heals you physically, but I think it takes away mental stress and then the spiritual part I think is it allows you to kind of enjoy the meditations a little more, so when I come out, my first thought is intense gratitude for the people in my life.

One of the photos that caused the most stir was one of Randall Cobb and Davante Adams from the Kansas City game that Rodgers missed because of COVID-19. They left a space between them where Rodgers would normally stand, and some internet sleuths thought that was a goodbye message.

It brought tears to my eyes when I saw that photo from Randall and Davante. It is a part of the ritual but also a statement about friendship and love and the connection that we have collectively and individually in our own friends.

They held space and an open spot for me in the game I missed because of my positive COVID test. That is one of the best photos of the year. It is one of my all-time favorite photos because it shows the love and how special each of those moments is, and the thought that went into doing that was deeply moving to me, especially with how crazy that week was. It got me the photo after the game.

Adams is scheduled to become a free agent next month. If Rodgers returns, the Packers will use the franchise tag to keep Adams off the market and hope that they can reach a long-term contract with him.

I don't think both parties want that done, but I understand.

His 41-minute appearance on the show Tuesday was more about reflection than looking toward the future, although Rodgers said he had a few more things to consider.

He made it clear that he was no longer a fan of the Packers after this past season than he was last year.

Rodgers said that the meetings were different than in the past, and that there were some honest conversations.

Rodgers said the mending began after he met with Gutekunst early in training camp. He said several members of the coaching staff tailgated along the Pacific Coast Highway in front of his California home waiting for him to return, trying to convince Rodgers to come back to the team.

Rodgers likened the training camp conversation with Gutekunst to the one he had with former Packers teammate and current Vikings quarterback, and Packers legend, quarterback, and current Minnesota Vikings quarterback, quarterback, and current Green Bay Packers quarterback, and Packers legend, quarterback, and current Minnesota Vikings quarterback, and

Rodgers said that it was the best analogy, that he and Favre shook hands at the league's awards show. That was what Brian and I talked about. I feel like that was a first step towards having real free-flowing conversation and friendship, and I am thankful for the work that he put in on the relationship and Russ Ball as well.

Shailene was a big part of the Tuesday show. Rodgers credited her for being a part of his success on the field over the past two seasons.

Rodgers said that it was not a coincidence that the two had split, despite recent entertainment site reports that the two had split. The work life is a bonus when your home life is stable and you have an amazing partner. It makes life so much more enjoyable when you have a partner like that. I believe that living a life of gratitude is an important way to keep your joy in your life. Being around those special people that we meet is something that life just changes for you when you meet your person.

He apologized to those close to him who were impacted by his stance on vaccinations, which came to light after his positive COVID-19 test.

Rodgers said that he didn't realize the kind of shrapnel they would be taking. Being out of this now and having conversations with some of those people, and understanding the gravity of the situation I was thrust into, had an effect on a lot of people. I apologize to those people. I didn't mean to get you in the middle of it, but you got into it because of your relation to me.
