The Kansas City Chiefs have parted ways with Anthony Hitchens.

In 15 games last season, he had 80 tackles and an intercept.

In his first season with the Chiefs, he registered a career-best 135 tackles. In four seasons with the Chiefs, Hitchens played in 70 games with two sacks, one interception and two forced turnovers.

The salary cap of the Chiefs will be $8.4 million in 2022.

He is a team-first player and I enjoyed coaching him over the last four years. I appreciate the way he came to work, ready to do his part, but also his willingness to teach the younger guys around him.

Willie Gay was drafted in the second round in 2020 by the Chiefs, while Nick Bolton was drafted in the second round last year.

Hitchens played four seasons for the Dallas Cowboys. In 63 regular-season and playoffs games for the Cowboys, Hitchens had 3.5 sacks, one interception and two forced turnovers.

He was an important part of the team that won the Super Bowl and we wish him the best.
