A few weeks ago, it looked like Manchester City would be able to defend their title, as they looked to be masterminding a dominant defence of their crown. Less than 14 days ago, City's straightforward 2-0 win over Brentford propelled them 12 points clear at the summit aboveLiverpool in second, though the latter did have two games in hand at the time. After Sunday's shock 3-2 home defeat to Spurs, City's once-commanding advantage has been chopped down to just six points and they still have a game in hand over their rivals. The Reds can reduce the gap between the top two spots to three points if they win against Leeds on Wednesday. The gap between City and the rest of the league has now grown to a point where it seems like a foregone conclusion that they will win the title. With three months left in the season, the title race is far from being a foregone conclusion, and similar scenes are unfolding across the continent. The top five leagues in Europe have six points between the teams in first and second place. As we enter the final stretch, the title races are shaping up nicely. - ESPN+ guide: LaLiga, Bundesliga, MLS, FA Cup, more (U.S.)

It is not certain if City andLiverpool are still so close when they meet at the Etihad in April in what could well be a title decider. Many of the teams vying for a position in the top four or bitter local rivals could play a part in the championship if there are many choice clashes to come. There are a lot of big games on the horizon.

No prizes for guessing who is leading the way in the German league this season, as the winner of the title will get their 10th consecutive championship, which would be a record in Europe's top five leagues. However, a recent shock 4-2 defeat against Bochum has reduced the lead as they are now six points behind the leaders. It is difficult to imagine that the big silver shield will be hoisted somewhere other than the Allianz Arena come May.

AC Milan and Inter Milan have both had mixed results in the league since the beginning of the year, but the Milan giants are two points apart at the top of the table. Despite having played a game more than the team directly above them in a three-way fight for the Scudetto, third-place Napoli are still in the mix. The Partenopei are arguably in the richest vein of form at the moment, and have not lost in their last six games, including a draw against Inter in February.

Paris Saint-Germain suffered their first league defeat of the season on Saturday, when they were thrashed by the Nantes. Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and the rest of the group of players are sitting pretty at the top of the table. There are 13 games left of the season for Paris Saint-Germain to make a mess of the situation, but they will regain the title they lost to Lille last year.
