  • Sebastian Stan told Vanity Fair that Tom Holland was the inspiration for The Winter Soldier and The Falcon.

  • Stan's character The Winter Soldier and Anthony Mackie's character Falcon team up in the series.

  • Stan said they fought Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War.

The friendly rivalry between Sebastian Stan and Tom Holland continues after Stan said in a new Vanity Fair video that he hates that Holland inspired The Winter Soldier and The Falcon.

The series focused on the heroes Falcon and The Winter Soldier as they tried to rebuild their lives after the events of the movie.

During an interview for a Vanity Fair YouTube video about his movie career, Stan pointed out that their friendship journey began when they fought Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War.

Stan said that Anthony and he got a show because of the fight scene in the movie. Tom is not Anthony.

Stan and Holland have used promotion tours to mock each other before. He said in an interview with Jake Hamilton that he didn't like to support Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Stan said in the Vanity Fair video that he didn't think his character would survive past his first appearance in Captain America: First Avenger because they changed the ending. In the first movie, The Winter Soldier, who is known as Bucky at this point in the story, fell to his death after Captain America failed to save him.

Stan said that he was supposed to receive a green sleeve to cover his arm in order to make it look like he lost his arm in the fall. The Winter Soldier is known for having a metal arm, so this would tease his return in the sequel.

Stan said that on the day of the shoot, they were not going to do the green sleeve. I will die on that train. They didn't know what arm they were going to use and kept going.
