One of the biggest measures taken by the west against Russia in response to its actions in Ukraine was announced Tuesday by the German Chancellor.

The government decided to re-examine the certification of the pipeline, which is yet to become operational, according to the minister.

The measure is in response to Russia's recent actions in Ukraine, which include the deployment of troops into two pro-Russian enclaves.

The certification of the project was issued by the former Chancellor before she left office.

The nation's economic affairs ministry will assess the security of Germany's energy supply in light of the situation that has emerged in the last few days.
