An app on the Play Store that bears a similar name to the one used by Donald Trump has been downloaded more than 100,000 times.
The name of the app was displayed as the top result for the search term "Truth Social Trump". The app was released on August 28 and the majority of the downloads took place after February 8.
MAGA Hub features a photo-based feed that allows other users to see the same content. The Truth Social app is more of a social networking platform.
It is not clear what buyers receive from the in-app purchases. They are subscribed to a global chat group, through which they are constantly sent messages.
The official website of the Truth Social app states that a Play Store version is coming soon, but not all users seem to know that.
TheMAGA Hub app has received over 6,600 reviews, most of which were posted in January and February, with some reviewers believing the Android version is Trump's platform.
I thought Trump was smarter than this. I will be removing this app immediately, it is just plain dumb, and Alan Knight wrote a one-star review about it.
The platform is new as well. Stephen Jones, who gave the app five stars, wrote that no matter your opinions, you will be welcome here.
Others tried to warn other users thatMAGA Hub isn't the app promised by Trump.
List it as "Truth Social Trump" but make no mistake. This is not true advertising. This is not the truth. The app was given one star by user Hexor Marhetbar.
The developer of the app is listed in the Play Store as being based in Berlin, Germany. Both Niessen and the profile's affiliated brand did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
There is an app called "LGBT Hub" and a game called "Grand Among Craft" on Niessen's website.
The developer of Truth Social, Trump Media and Technology Group, did not respond to Insider's requests for comment.
