Truth Social, a new social media app that claims to be free from political discrimination, made its public debut on Apple's App Store on Monday. The app was messy and full of errors, like many things in Trumpland.

The CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group, a former Republican congressman, announced on Sunday that Truth Social would be available in the App Store this week, with a goal of being fully operational in the U.S. by the end of March. The app was automatically downloaded for users who pre-ordered it in the App Store when it went live on Sunday.

The app took the top spot in the social networking category on the App Store on Monday. Being first doesn't mean you are the best in this case. Users were not able to register and were placed on waiting lists. The terms of service page was down and users couldn't read about what they were signing up for.

Gizmodo reached out to Trump Media & Technology Group for comment on Truth Social, but did not receive an immediate response.

Some issues and problems with Truth Social were reported on Monday. This list is not complete because of the many problems with the app.

Registration can’t be completed

It was a challenge to register for an account on Truth Social. The outlet found that people were getting error messages when they tried to create an account. Failure to register your account was received by others.

Eternal waitlists

A Business Insider reporter stated that it took her five tries to get past the registration barrier. Many apps have long waiting lists at launch, so this isn't unusual. It was weird and horrifying that Truth Social told people what number they were on the waiting list, in some cases it was hundreds of thousands.

We love you, and you are not just another number to us, the message read.

The Business Insider reporter had a number of 157,120. Truth Social sent them an email about 30 minutes after they signed up. Their place in the app was the same. Some users on the waitlist who moved up said they had been dropped or lost their place.

Partial outage

It's no surprise that Truth Social reported a partial outage on its first day. According to its status page, the outage lasted 13 hours and 14 minutes and was related to application launch traffic.

Terms of Service can’t be loaded

It wasn't possible for those who wanted to learn more about what they were signing up for. Truth Social'sTerms of Service page couldn't be accessed as of Monday evening and displayed a denied access message.

Security flaw in the beta version of the app

The Daily Dot discovered a serious security flaw in the internal version of the app, which was used by the company to find bugs, that was left publicly accessible online hours before Truth Social's launch on the App Store. This version is different from the one that was launched on the App Store.

The outlet was able to register for the account on Sunday. The account named Papa Pinochet expresses support for Augusto Pinochet, who was responsible for the murder, torture, and exile of thousands. It is not clear if the account was meant to train the moderation systems or if it was created as a fan page.

Copying someone else’s logo

Truth Social's most hilarious failure was accidentally copying another company's logo. The logo for Trailar is very similar to the logo for Truth Social.

The company told Vice that it was aware of the potential rip-off.

The Trailar logo and the Truth Social logo have been brought to our attention by various media outlets, and we are looking for legal advice to protect our brand.

It was difficult to tell what Truth Social was like on launch day because the most talked about subjects were all of its flaws. The app is only available in the U.S. on mobile devices. The status page for the app suggests that a website is in the works, but no website has been released yet.
