A Chihuahua, dubbed Coco, was found tied up in several bags discarded along the railroad tracks in Vineland on Feb.19. A $1K reward is posted for the tip that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

The crew at the North Delsea Drive animal haven cut through the three bags.

Morrison said that she was in a mesh bag and a plastic bag. There were two bags in the tote.

The timing of the rescue was crucial.

Morrison doesn't know how long she would have had.

The dog showed signs of distress after being freed.

Morrison said that she fell over on her first steps.

Shelter officials said they were sickened by the act of animal abuse.

A $1,000 reward is on offer for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Morrison said that it was very intentional.

The dog is a year old. She was seen by a vet after staying at the shelter for several hours.

There were no obvious signs of trauma, but the dog was dehydrated.

Morrison said that she is still sweet and affectionate despite the horrible incident.

Coco is in a foster home.

Morrison said that they would probably keep her there for a few weeks while she recuperates.

Coco doesn't match the descriptions posted in missing dog reports. The bags had no identification in them.

The shelter can be reached by anyone who recognized the dog.

Many well wishes and inquires about Coco have been received by the animal shelter.

Morrison said there are quite a few people interested in adopting her.

Morrison said that the shelter has 57 dogs and 128 cats looking for a home.

She said that everyone back there has a story, but it may not be as attention grabbing.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the police.
