Big boys need to eat when they are big bears like Hank, who has broken into at least 28 homes in search of food. Hank the Tank is a menace in the city of South Lake Tahoe, CA. The 500-pound bear has been spotted more than 100 times since July. Hank tries to get his paws on the leftovers at home. An average black bear can weigh anywhere from 100-300 lbs. The bear with loud noises, paintballs and tasers, but nothing is keeping him away, has been tried by local authorities. Peter Tira, a spokesman for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, told the New York Times that a bear has lost all fear of people. Tira says local authorities are trying to trap the bear and possibly kill him. Hank is causing property damage, but locals point out that he is a gentle giant that has not harmed anyone. One resident put it that way. Hank just eats and doesn't attack them. He doesn't growl. He doesn't make rude faces. He is polite while breaking and entering.
