Jean-Philippe Gbamin has joined CSKA Moscow on a loan until the end of the season.
He was a substitute in the FA Cup win.
Gbamin was ruled out for 20 months after sustaining a thigh injury and an ant problem while training.
Russian clubs can sign players until 22 February so he can move outside the English window.
After an 11-week winter break, CSKA will resume their campaign on Saturday.

When Mainz paid 25m for Jean-Philippe Gbamin in August, it was thought that he would be the replacement for the influential Idrissa Gueye. His career was cursed from the beginning.
He made an appearance as a substitute against Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season, then started the win againstWatford before suffering a serious thigh injury in training that required surgery.
Gbamin's hopes of a comeback were shattered when he sustained a serious injury in training in May 2020 and was ruled out for the rest of the season. He has never been able to regain his former form since he was signed byEverton.
It seems like there is no future for him atEverton and they will hope that he produces something at CSKA Moscow that will allow them to get some return on a player they had such high hopes for.
