The unanimous No. 1 in the latest Associated Press men's basketball poll is Gonzaga. The way the Zags are dominating the West Coast Conference is not likely to change.

The media panel that released the poll gave all 61 votes to the Jesuits. The Arizona moved up a spot to second in the rankings, with the other top five being Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, and Purdue.

Last year&s run to the national championship game was followed by another dominant regular season by the team. The 10th straight regular-season title for the Zags was assured last week with victories over Santa Clara and Pepperdine.

According to KenPom.com, one of the most dominant conference seasons in the past 25 years has been the one this year for the West Coast Conference. The team is on pace to match the largest margin of victory in a conference game. They have four of the top five spots on that list in the past 25 years.

They could win the whole thing, according to the coach.

The top seed in the West Coast Conference tournament will be decided by the results of the road games against San Francisco and Saint Mary's.

Cats are climbing.

Tommy Lloyd is a long time assistant to the head coach of Gonzaga.

With two weeks left in the regular season, the Cats have a two-game lead over Southern California.

Arizona overcame a shaky start to beat Oregon State 83-69 on Thursday, then beat Oregon 84-81 in a high-level game Saturday.

The wins, combined with the loss of Auburn, put the Cats right in the middle of the pack.

Lloyd said that he was proud of those guys and that they had a great team.

Falling/rising.

Arkansas moved up five spots after shutting down Tennessee and beating Missouri. The University of Connecticut moved up three spots to 21 after winning over Seton Hall and Xavier.

After losing to Iowa, Ohio State fell four spots in the poll. Three of the top 10 teams lost spots.

In and out.

Saint Mary's returned to the poll after a one-week absence, thanks to wins over San Francisco and BYU. Iowa is ranked for the first time this season after beating Ohio State.

Michigan State lost to Penn State and Illinois. The Spartans have lost four of five.

Wyoming was in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2015. The Cowboys lost to New Mexico and Air Force last week.

Conference watch.

The Big 10 and SEC had five ranked teams. The West Coast Conference had two and the Big East had three.

The Atlantic Coast, American Athletic and Ohio Valley conferences all had one ranked team.
