A man with a camera on his head in an office

David Cronenberg's Videodrome is still true almost 40 years later. A sci-fi horror thriller about a TV channel that might just be murdering people as a way to corrupt perverted Americans feels more modern than ever. The film has remained disturbingly timeless, but its music has remained oddly absent.

Howard Shore's score for the film was not the full, original score. For the first time ever, the score has been restored from the original session masters and supervised by Shore. io9 has an exclusive first look at the artwork by Rich Kelly, which will be on vinyl by Mondo.

As fans of the Cronenberg and Shore collaborations over the years, our partnership with Howe records has proven to be one of the most important in the history of our record label. We have been working towards re-issuing Videodrome for 8 years since our first collaboration with Howe Records.

The best we could do was a re-release of the original 1983 Videodrome album. He said that they never could have imagined that Howard Shore would be going back to his master tapes to put the album together.

Videodrome will be available for $30 pre-order at MondoShop.com, and will be available on 180 gram black vinyl. It will also be available on CD through La-La Land Records, as well as digitally through Back Lot Music. The track list is here.
