Remembering Jane 'Nightbirde' Marczewski

Jane was a star of America's Got Talent and died after a battle with cancer. It has been learned.

A source with direct knowledge tells us that the singer passed away on Sunday after months of receiving treatment for the disease which had spread to her lungs, spine and liver.

Nightbirde withdrew from AGT mid-season when she said she would be focusing on her health full-time. She had previously survived breast cancer, but it came back in a different state.

She said doctors gave her a 2% chance of survival and that she had just 3-6 months to live. She beat the odds and was declared cancer-free the following year, but it came back in 2021.

She lived much longer than health professionals thought, fighting hard for survival, and winning over audiences.

The judge of AGT posted a touching note about Nightbirde, saying that she was a bright light in all our lives. I feel lucky to have met, heard and known her, even though I feel horrible about her passing.

During her initial outing, she sang an original song, which blew the judges away, and got a standing ovation from the others. She made it to the quarterfinals after getting a green light. She might have won the whole competition if she hadn't pulled out.

Unfortunately, her run on AGT was cut short due to cancer, and she has been mostly out of the spotlight since.

Nightbirde was never signed to a label and doesn't have an album out, but she did have some releases and singles under her belt when she was trying to break out in Virginia.

She was 31 years old.

I am sad.
