The new audio posted by 60 Minutes shows what the noise is like when people claim to have experienced Havana Syndrome.

People who have suffered say it began after they heard this sound.

The sound of the audio recorded by an unnamed former official will not lead to any problems associated with the syndrome.

You might want to turn the volume down.

A former US official recorded a sound outside his home in Havana, Cuba. Injured officials 60 Minutes spoke with said the sound or a feeling of pressure came from one direction.

60 Minutes aired on February 21, 2022.

The CBS News show reported several cases around Washington, D.C., including one on the White House grounds.

It was like this piercing feeling on the side of my head, it was like I remember it was on the right side of my head, and I got vertigo.

She felt it on a staircase in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House campus, as well as three times on the Ellipse.

I remember thinking, "Don't fall down the stairs", as I was wobbly and felt nauseous. She said you have to find your ground again and steady yourself.

Hundreds of U.S. officials have said they have suffered from headaches and nausea after hearing strange sounds, with the first known cases traced to staff at the U.S. Embassy in Cuba.

The CIA said last year that most cases did not appear to be caused by a foreign power.

Theories include a weapon using energy, such as microwaves. Mass psychogenic illness, also known as mass hysteria, has been speculated at a psychological origin.

President Joe Biden last year signed legislation to ensure care and compensation to victims, despite the skepticism of the Trump administration.
