A number of prospects won't participate in most activities at the combine because of the bubble environment.

If the rules aren't changed, more than 150 prospects will boycott testing, on-field workouts and interviews. The players want access to a full team of coaches and trainers instead of just one support person.

155 players are prepared to announce on Monday a formal boycott of the Scouting Combine, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

The players association supports the agents.

According to Pelissero, the NFLPA sent a memo to agents that pointed to its long standing opposition to the NFL Scouting Combine.

The NFL sent a memo to prospects Saturday explaining the bubble plan and the players who violate it will be sent home.

The combine was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The plan for this year was to hold all the workouts in one day instead of spreading them out, according to Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports.

Roughly half of the invited participants will participate in the combine if 155 players go through with a boycott. While teams and scouts can still gather information about the boycotting players, it surely isn't what the NFL has in mind with the return of the annual event ahead of the draft.

Maybe some back-and-forth leading up to the March 1 start date could lead to a compromise. The drama is unfolding ahead of the event.
