Jack Wilshere has joined AGF Aarhus after eight months without a club.
After being released by Bournemouth in May, the 30-year-old was looking for a new team and was training with the Gunners this season.
Wilshere said that he needs to get started again after a difficult period.
AGF gave me that opportunity.
He said that he would do everything he could to live up to the expectations.
Wilshere will wear the number 10 shirt until the summer with an option to extend.
He said that since he started training with the club, he knew that it was going to be ready for a new club.
I am looking forward to being a part of the team. I feel fit and in good shape, so I want to get into the squad and see if I can get some playing time for the club.
He has only played 36 games since leaving the club.
AGF has last won a trophy in 1996.
He is in good physical shape, but lacks game fitness according to the sports director. We look forward to seeing him in the white jersey when he settles in.
Wilshere was without a club for a period last season, leaving West Ham in October and joining Bournemouth in January. He played in 17 games for the Cherries, with his final game coming in the Championship play-offs.
Wilshere has suffered injuries in his career.
He won 34 caps for England but many expected more from him.
In November, he said he was 100% sure he could still play.
I don't care what people say on social media. I am honest. I would be the first to say "enough" if I didn't think I could.
I think something different, abroad, might be beneficial to me.
