Jack Wilshere has signed a deal with a Danish side until the end of the season.

Wilshere will join his new team-mates for training on Monday and can extend his deal by a further year. He was given a shirt with the number 10 on it.

He was released by Bournemouth last summer after his contract expired, and has been without a club ever since.

The 30-year-old was looking for a new club and had been training with the two Italian teams.

Wilshere said that he had always known that it was going to be ready for a new club in 2022. It will be an exciting new challenge for me now that the right club is here.

I am in a place in my career where I need to get started again after a difficult period and that opportunity AGF has offered me. I am very grateful and I will do everything I can to live up to the expectations.

Bjornebye is excited by the Wilshere signing.

Jack has shown his worth on both club and national level over the past 10 years. We had no doubt that we would like to pursue the opportunity to get him here. Jack will give us some extra offensive tools because of his excellent technique and eye for the game.

He is in good shape, but lacks game fitness. We look forward to seeing him in the white jersey when he settles in.

Vejle Boldklub is seventh in the Superliga and will play Aarhus on Friday.
