The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said that Sondra Wiener's 87-year-old sister was found dead from a gunshot wound Thursday in her Boynton Beach, Florida, home along with an unidentified 90-year-old male victim.

The deaths were the result of a murder-suicide, but the department did not say who used the gun.

BocaNewsNow.com reported Saturday that Sondra Wiener's 90-year-old husband was one of the victims.

Natural causes caused the death of the man in a federal prison last April. The Great Recession attracted attention to the financial crimes of Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff, who was sentenced to 150 years in prison. According to federal prosecutors, he cheated $65 billion from 38,000 clients. Mark and Andrew died of cancer in the same year, but Andrew blamed his father's cancer for his death.

Big Number

At least $1 million. The amount of money that Sondra and Marvin Wiener, along with their son and daughter-in-law, received between 2002 and 2008 is contained in a 2010 federal lawsuit.

The man who died in federal prison at the age of 81 was Bernard Madoff.
