Die-hard runners refuse to be stymied by winter's oft-inclement conditions, so Nike's Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail with GORE-TEX fabric is matching them stride for stride, appearing in a new "University Gold/Noble Red" colorway. Following in the footsteps - so to speak - of the rugged model's "Black" and "Galactic Jade" makeups, this fresh style offers the same hardy tech as its predecessors, but ramps up the color considerably with its bold palette.

The upper combines a bold gold waterproof base with rich turquoise overlays and black trim. There's plenty of branding to be had here as well, with a GORE-TEX logo overlaid by a black Swoosh on the lateral midfoot. Meanwhile, a mountain graphic and small blue Swoosh grace the medial midfoot and heel, respectively. Technical graphics then appear on the throat, medial eyestays and insole for an additional hit of visual interest.

Meanwhile, the bottom portion offers a contrasting yang to the upper's yin, using a dark red Cushlon midsole and a bright red lugged outsole to provide a warm and welcome contrast. Zoom Air units are loaded into both the heel and forefoot, while a "Born To Be Wild" text hit underlines the trail-to-road stylings.

The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail GORE-TEX "University Gold/Noble Red" is available on Nike.com now for $160 USD.

Elsewhere in the world of Nike, the brand is bringing back LeBron James's lauded LeBron 7 "Red Carpet."
