Kell brook stopped his British rival in six rounds on Saturday, and he has been saying for years that he has the beating of Khan.

The fight was stopped at the start of the sixth round due to a furious, one-sided attack on Khan by Brook, just above the 149-pound limit for a nontitle catchweight bout.

In the first and fifth rounds, Khan was rocking, but in the sixth, relentless pressure forced the fight to be stopped.

The defeat had looked inevitable for a while, but Khan was stopped on his feet. Khan was out-landed 79-34 in total punches, and just could not handle the power of the opponent.

After six years of trying to make a fight between two bitter rivals who live about 50 miles apart, but whose paths have repeatedly missed each other, Brook celebrated wildly with his team in the ring.

It was just a matter of time before I got him out.

I wanted to be involved in those fights when I was a kid. I knew I was a better fighter than him when I was 18. He had the support of thePromoters because he won an Olympic medal.

After a dispute about gloves and wraps, Brook had to change gloves in the ring, but he remained focused.

This might be the most satisfying and proud moment of his career, and revives some hope that he can remain in big fights.

A sixth professional defeat might convince Khan to retire.

I have had 40 fights and won two world titles, but I need to sit down with my family. It's more towards the end of my career. I did not have that push in the ring. That may be a sign that I should call it a day.

Both 35-year-olds were in decline before their meeting. Kells last held a world title in 2017, while Khan last held a world title in 2011. Crawford defeated Khan in six rounds in the previous fight, and also defeated Brook in four rounds.

Despite the losses, injuries and recent activity, this was still a huge event for British boxing fans, and it lived up to the hype in front of a sold-out crowd of 20,000.

After training alongside Crawford for six weeks in the United States, Khan had a trainer in his corner for the first time, Brian Bomac McIntyre.

The pound-for-pound No. 1 was giving the English boxer some last words of advice in the corner before the opening bell, as Crawford had made the trip to England to support Khan.

It didn't have the desired effect as Khan was in trouble in the first round.

A lot of the punches did not land as Khan came out firing.

When Khan was hit by a left hook in the second half of the opening round, he was in trouble. In the first round, Khan was wobbled by a right and then by a left, and then by a smile at the end of the round.

Khan landed a left hand in the fourth, but it was the overhand right by Brook that hurt him the most.

Khan did well to escape the fifth round without visiting the canvas after he was put under intense pressure early in the fifth by a sustained attack of hooks.

In the sixth, brook came at Khan, stalking him around the ring and landing unanswered right hooks. After 51 seconds of the sixth round, the referee called a halt to the match because Khan was taking continuous punishment.

After being knocked out by Crawford in 2016 and 2017, Kells had not fought since. It was quite a response to the one-sided loss to Crawford, while Khan will be left wondering if he has a future left after failing to cope with the power of the punches.

Clarke makes a bow after being crowned world champion.

When she was 37 years old, the woman known as "Natasha" won her first world title when she stopped Chris Namus in the second round.

In a points defeat almost a year ago, Jonas pushed undisputed lightweight champion Taylor close and put that behind her by stepping up three weight classes to win a world title with ease.

It was success at the third attempt of winning a world title after she was held to a draw in a shot at the world junior lightweight champion in August 2020 before the loss to Taylor.

The replacement for Ewa was quickly in trouble after she tested positive for COVID-19.

In her previous outing at the same weight, Ema Kozin defeated Namus, who was outpointed by Jonas early on.

She was on shaky legs for the rest of the round after she was hit heavily by a jab from Jonas in the first round.

28 seconds into the second round, it was over after she sent Namus tottering backward from a left hook. The referee thought that she was not ok to continue.

Afterwards, she dedicated the title win to her daughter.

I have been through hell and back and it makes it worth it, I have the support of my friends. My cousin has a little girl at home. This is for you, baby, mummy did it.

On the undercard, a professional boxer from Burton, England, made a successful professional debut by beating Jake Darnell in a round.

Anthony Joshua, who won a world title in the same weight class, is hoping to follow in his friend's footsteps.

When he began to open up in the second minute, he was too powerful for Darnell, who was a former sparring partner and security guard for Joshua.

Adam Azim, a 19-year-old super lightweight from Slough, also impressed in a third-round knockout of Jordan Ellison to take his record to 2-0 (2KOs).
