LeBron hears the roars from Cleveland crowd at All-Star practice (0:17)

The crowd in Cleveland cheers for James as he takes the court for All-Star practice. (0:17)

In an interview with The Athletic ahead of Sunday's All-Star game, James said the door is not closed on a possible return to Cleveland and that his last season in the league will be with his son.

James is in his first year of a two-year, $85 million contract, which he signed in the middle of last season, as he prepares to play in his 18th All-Star game. He won't be a free agent until the 24th season of his NBA career.

James told The Athletic on Saturday that the door was not closed on a possible return to Cleveland. I have no idea what my future holds. I don't know when I'm free.

James, who is from Ohio, played his first seven seasons in Cleveland before moving to Miami and then returning to Cleveland for four more years.

He told The Athletic that he wasn't interested in taking a discount after his current contract is up, but left the door open for a possible exception.

James said that his last year will be with his son. I would play with my son for a year. It is not about money at that point.

The 43rd ranked prospect in the ESPN 60 for the 2023 class is a 6-3 point guard named Bronny James.

He would be eligible to be drafted in the year 2024.
